The South African version of this magazine features Kate Middleton on its August cover... except it really doesn't.
The following image is the brunette beauty's face morphed on to the body of some random model, marking the second time this month that a publication has fabricated a photo of Middleton for marketing purposes.
Kate Middleton
In a lame attempt of the issue's effort, Marie Claire Editor Aspasia Karrass tells the UK's Telegraph:
"We were so inspired by her fairytale wedding and her life as a modern-day princess, which is why we elected Kate Middleton as our cover star for the August issue. The cover is actually a hyper-real illustration of Kate, meant to be a fan art tribute to fashion's new royal icon."
TRANSLATION: We were desperate to sell copies and she wouldn't actually pose for us.
In an equally pathetic attempt to capitalize on Middleton and her popularity, meanwhile, the cover also claims that Kate "wears SA's best local designers*" - only for the fine print to read: "*Of course she doesn't. But she should."
No word yet from Great Britain regarding the magazine, but sources say the palace is royally steamed over shots of Kate and Prince William on their honeymoon.
